Life Has A Way Of Surprising Us

It’s funny how we outgrow the things we once thought we couldn’t live without. I remember back in my drinking days, I thought wine was the answer to all my problems. It was the magic potion that helped me manage my stress and unwind at the end of a long day. I couldn’t imagine a life without it. But as I look back now, I can’t help but laugh at how absurd that notion was.

As I started to learn and grow, I realized that moderation was no longer my goal when it came to alcohol. I needed to break free from the hold it had on me. It wasn’t easy, but I knew it was necessary for my own well-being. As I took a step back from alcohol, and embraced life without it, I found myself falling in love with a life I didn’t even know I wanted.

The journey of life has a funny way of leading us down paths we never would have guessed. It’s like a rollercoaster ride with unexpected twists and turns. Just when we think we have it all figured out, life throws us a curveball and we find ourselves reevaluating everything we once thought we knew.

Through all the ups and downs, it’s important to have faith and not be afraid. We need to trust that everything is unfolding exactly as it should. And even though it may seem scary at times, we need to find peace in the journey and savor the lessons that come our way.

Looking back, I can’t help but chuckle at how I thought wine was the be-all and end-all of my happiness. Now, I find joy in the simple things like a hot cup of tea, a killer workout or a quiet moment of reflection. I’ve outgrown the need for alcohol to numb my emotions and I’ve fallen in love with the clarity and freedom that sobriety brings.

Life has a way of surprising us in the most unexpected ways. It’s funny how we can outgrow the things we once thought we couldn’t live without and fall in love with what we never knew we wanted. Embrace the journey, have faith, and savor every moment because you never know where it might lead. And who knows, you might just find yourself laughing at your old self, wondering how you ever thought you couldn’t live without what you now happily live without.
